Rido Lenni (full name Millennium Peridot Sterling Calvin Brie) is a middle school student from the Wormwood neighborhood of Edge City.

Rido maintains a broadly nihilistic worldview, believing life has no inherent meaning or value. This often leads him to behave in a detached, indifferent manner.
Biography
During the summer after 8th grade, Rido, attempted to visit his best friend Madison Ravenswood at Leawood Memorial Hospital. After misreading the room number written by the receptionist—he confused 608 for 809—Rido inadvertently stumbled into a questionable experiment being carried out by men in lab coats. Upon attempting to leave, Rido was pursued by men in black, who cornered him on the top level of the hospital's parking garage. Rido was about to surrender when he was rescued by a woman in a black SUV with no license plates.
The driver of the SUV, an adult woman with the appearance of a child, introduced herself as Baby Blue, owner of Ante Meridiem Electronics. Baby Blue refused to explain what happened, but offered Rido a part-time job at her store. Rido, understanding the implication, readily accepted.

Relationships
Rido has been friends with Madison Ravenswood, who lives across the street from him, since they were small children. Madison and Rido perform as a musical duo called Wormwood Avenue, named for their home neighborhood. Their goal is to book at least one gig at a public venue before Madison has to move away the end of the summer.
