Nyx Stefanović Slaughter (nicknamed Stevie by her husband Khan) was a literature teacher at Jessica Fletcher Memorial High School in Sterling Township.
Nyx grew up in Sterling Township alongside her sister Minerva. She completed her bachelor's degree at The University of Centralia at Riverside before returning to Sterling Township to launch her teaching career.
Nyx and her husband Khan Mann were found dead days after receiving the Book of Equestrianism from her sister. Nyx's then-7-year-old daughter, Hybris, was able to deduce the identity of her parents' killer, who was subsequently apprehended by Sheriff Mercury. Despite this apparent triumph of justice, Hybris continues to believe the killer was not a lone actor but was in fact working on behalf of a shady cult...she just doesn't have any proof yet.
