This was [[The Handler]]'s idea, because it was the only way to get [[Princess Alice]] and [[Supreme Leader Malice]] to stop fighting about it in the schoolyard. A monument commemorating the girls' frequent hair-pulling stands in Edge City's public square. The current governor of Edge city is [[Andrew S. Stanton]], who for some reason seems to really dislike his initials. The Edge City Police Department (ECPD) is regarded as the most corrput law enforcement agency in Centralia, but only because the police commissioner accepts kickbacks from the [[Cutie Scouts]] in exchange for allowing them to sell cookies without a permit. (The kickbacks are also cookies. They're literally called "Kickbacks".) Most of the time, though, ECPD officers just seem to stand around random public places, heavily armed, trying to look intimidating. Nobody really knows what the point is supposed to be, especially given that they don't actually do anything when an emergency actually does happen. Don't believe everything you read on the conspiracy forums. == Culture == While Edge City is currently recognized as a territory of Centralia, Discordantian culture remains a major influence in the region, with recent polls showing over 70% of Edge City residents prefer season 3 of ''[[Magical Guardian Himeko!!]]'' to season 2. ## Edge City is home to Centralia's only zoo of man-eating machines, including the industrial steam cleaner from Stephen King's "The Mangler". == Transportation == Edge City lies at the junction of [[East Principal Highway]] and Centralia Highway 94. An auxiliary highway, Centralia Highway 194, was built during the border dispute to bypass Edge City to the west. A similar bypass on the Discordantian side was partially constructed but never completed. In the early 1990s, [[CenDOT]] proposed the construction of a set of extended express lanes along Principal Highway East. The express lanes would have allowed traffic to pass directly between Centralia and Discordantia, effectively "bypassing" Edge City by continuing directly though its center.
