The Headmistress is, of course, the head teacher of Dame Adorabelle's Academy of the Magical Arts in Havensborough, Centralia. She presumably has a personal name, but students, faculty, and staff all address her solely as "Headmistress".
Career
Despite Princess Alice's attempts at characterizing her as a cruel tyrant bent on destroying childlike whimsy and play, the Headmistress is generally regarded as reasonable and levelheaded and recognized for her leadership skills. Princess Alice can't really know it, but she and her friends would probably be far worse off without the Headmistress's frequent interventions.
Personal life
Not much is known about the Headmistress's past. Some students claim the Headmistress, prior to pursuing a career in education, the world researching various traditions of magic and collecting spellbooks and magical items to further her own knowledge of how magic works. The Headmistress refuses to comment on these rumors, simply stating that her past is irrelevant to her current position as a school administrator.
The Headmistress resides in the Headmistress's Residence, a modest two-story house located on the edge of the academy's campus. Her day-to-day living space occupies only a small portion of the house, with the rest being used for storage of various books and magical artifacts. She generally does not allow Princess Alice inside.
