Patrolman Peter Pomeroy is a security guard employed by Dame Adorabelle's Academy in Havensborough, Centralia.
Appearance
Peter Pomeroy is a young man, about 19 years old, with slightly unkempt blonde hair and thick-rimmed sunglasses. While on duty, he nearly always wears his security guard uniform, consisting of white dress shirt, black jacket, and black slacks. His jacket features shoulder patches with the coat of arms of Dame Adorabelle's Academy, and the word SECURITY is embroidered on the back in large block letters.
Career
As the sole security guard employed by Dame Adorabelle's Academy of the Magical Arts, Pomeroy regards the protection of the school and its students as his sworn duty. In practice, however, he mostly ends up responding to false alarms from the various buildings' outdated security systems or idly watching camera feeds from the public safety office while sipping on an energy drink at 4 AM.
Partnership with Robin Ravenswood
In his capacity as the academy's public safety coordinator, Pomeroy has been assigned to work with Princess Alice's personal bodyguard, Robin Ravenswood, while the Princess remains enrolled at the school.
Much to Pomeroy's distress, Ravenswood takes an extremely lax approach to her duty of "protection", essentially letting young Princess Alice do whatever she wants with minimal supervision. Pomeroy, feeling an obligation to at least maintain a pretense of actively guarding the Princess, often attempts to intervene, to little effect.
On one occasion, Ravenswood allowed the Princess to run unaccompanied into a crowded city street during a local festival, prompting Pomeroy to attempt to force his way through the mass of people to follow her. He gave up after about two minutes when it had become clear that he had completely lost sight of her. As he began walking back to his car, he found Ravenswood and the Princess sitting on the sidewalk at a street corner sharing a bag of kettle corn.
Pomeroy is frequently exasperated by Ravenswood's complete disregard for professionalism. Frequently, Pomeroy has knocked on the door of Ravenswood's "quarters" in West Dormitory for a scheduled meeting, only for Ravenswood to answer the door in her pajamas, stretching and yawning, having completley forgotten about their itinerary. (In one instance, she answered the door very much not wearing her pajamas.) When Ravenswood does attend their public safety meetings, she often spends much of the session distracted, browsing Blathr on her phone or idly staring out the window, leaving Pomeroy to do much of the work alone.
Pomeroy has attempted to express his concerns to Ravenswood's Royal Guard superiors, but his complaints have largely fallen on deaf ears, with Ravenswood's superiors insisting that the monarch's directly appointed personal bodyguard must be plenty competent in comparison to a low-level teenage security guard who's not even authorized to carry weapons.
