Lady Hybris is a Zeor amateur detective.

Hybris was born with a rare medical condition called mystery protagonist syndrome, which means she is naturally drawn to areas where murders are about to occur. She encountered her first murder mystery at age 7, when her mother was killed in her family's rural home. Even as a small child, she solved the case quite easily, so now she believes she's a brain IQ genius. Let's just let her have that, I guess.

Today, Hybris is a sophomore at Fletcher High School, where upperclassman A provides her with "detective gadgets" of dubious efficacy. Most days she can be seen wearing her late mother's silver wristwatch, ostensibly as a memento, though also just because it looks cool.

Hybris has a tumultuous relationship with Sheriff Mercury, who often becomes exasperated when she turns up at yet another crime scene. Sergeant Plymouth, one of Mercury's deputies, is a little more patient with her.

Hybris's real name is not known. She calls her self "Lady Hybris". Other people have mostly gone along with this, except for the "Lady" part. That's a little pretentious, is it not?

Notable cases

• While attending an anime convention in Capital City, Hybris cleared Starry Knight of the murder of voice actor Vic Timm. Knight obviously couldn't have been the killer, because the killer was not left-handed.
