Laura Aashto is a character in the Centralian supernatural teen drama series Stellar, played by Hybris, who I guess is now an actress in addition to a detective.
Laura is nominally a student at New Salem High School, but she rarely attends classes, preferring to spend her days shut up in the school's unrealistically large library. Stella and Rudolf often rely on Laura's research skills to help them confront the supernatural problems that keep happening in their lives.
Laura is the granddaughter of the legendary private detective Roosevelt Aashto. Despite Laura's family having lost contact with Roosevelt before she was born, the Witches Council has officially tasked Laura with continuing her grandfather's investigation into The Inquistors, an infamous group of self-appointed "witch hunters". In the episode "Watching the Detectives", Stella sent Laura back to 198X to confer with Roosevelt about his investigation, only for Laura to discover she must help her future grandfather overcome his social anxiety and approach her future grandmother, Cassandra. The episode features a comedic scene in which Laura attempts to feed Roosevelt lines for Cassandra by communicating through her Bluetooth headphones, which she happened to be wearing when she was transported back in time.
In the episode "Aashto to Ashes", Laura learned that "Roy", the proprietor of popular New Salem hangout Roy's Diner, is, in reality, her grandfather Roosevelt, who had distanced himself from his family for their protection. ("Roy" was Cassandra's affectionate shortening of "Roosevelt".)
