'''Nyx Stefanović Slaughter''' (nicknamed '''Stevie''' by her husband [[Khan Mann|Khan]]) was a literature teacher at [[Jessica Fletcher Memorial High School]] in [[Sterling Township]].
Nyx grew up in Sterling Township alongside her sister [[Minerva Park|Minerva]]. She completed her bachelor's degree at [[The University of Centralia|UCen Riverside]] in [[Centralia]] before returning to Sterling Township to launch her teaching career.
Nyx and her husband [[Khan Mann]] were found dead days after receiving the ''[[Book of Equestrianism]]'' from her sister. Nyx's then-7-year-old daughter, [[Hybris]], was able to deduce the identity of her parents' killer, who was subsequently apprehended by [[Sheriff Mercury]]. Despite this apparent triumph of justice, Hybris continues to believe the killer was not a lone actor but was in fact working on behalf of a shady cult...she just doesn't have any proof yet.
