'''Asterians''' are extraterrestrial beings from the distant planet [[Asteria]].

Asterians are made of magic: their bodies literally consist of magic given physical form. Their nature as constructs of pure magic gives them immense supernatural power, far exceeding that of any human mage. Some have described Asterians' powers as godlike, and [[PrincessAlice|at least one Asterian]] actively styles herself as a deity.

The true form of Asterians is not known, even to themselves. When an Asterian arrives on another planet, their innate magic transforms them to appear like the dominant species of their new world.  While Asterians, as a race, have no concept of sex or gender, all of the few Asterians who have come to Earth have taken the appearance of human women or girls. When PrincessJeanette was asked why a genderless divine being would appear as a woman, she simply responded "I ''like'' being a woman."

Asterians, being magical constructs, have very few biological needs. While they do not strictly need to eat, some Asterians partake in it anyways. Princess Alice, for example, enjoys eating and claims that sweets and candy help her maintain her magical energy, while Supreme Leader [[Drusilla]] of [[Discordantia]] views eating as beneath her. Similarly, Asterians do not need to sleep, though Princess Alice was introduced to the concept of sleep by her Earth friends and has since become addicted, often sleeping well into the afternoon (much to TheHandler's dismay, especially on school days).

To date, four Asterians are known to have come to Earth:
 * PrincessMeredith, the founder and first sovereign princess of Centralia
 * PrincessJeanette, Meredith's adopted daughter and successor as ruler
 * PrincessAlice, the current princess of Centralia and the most powerful known Asterian
 * SupremeLeaderMalice, the childish dictator of [[Discordantia]] and Princess Alice's rival
